Caring Valley’s Wisdom in STEM program invites you to lend your invaluable experience as a volunteer judge for the 2026 Alameda County Science & Engineering Fair (ACSEF). This is a unique opportunity to directly mentor the next generation of innovators while providing essential support to one of our community’s most important educational events.
Fair Date: Saturday, March 14, 2026
Location: Chabot College, Hayward, CA
Commitment: Approximately 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (includes orientation, judging, and lunch)
Why Judge Through Caring Valley?

- Engineers (Software, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, Civil)
- Scientists (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Data Science)
- Medical Professionals
- Technology Innovators
- Educators with STEM backgrounds
Judge Responsibilities
- Attend a brief online or in-person orientation (details provided upon registration).
- Review assigned student projects.
- Interview students about their research, methodology, and findings.
- Provide constructive feedback and assign scores based on ACSEF criteria.
- Collaborate with other judges to select finalists.
